SRK Owns Land On The Moon

Believe it or not, but a crazy Australian fan gifts Shah Rukh Khan a piece of the moon every year on his birthday. SRK confirms to a daily, "Yes, an Australian lady buys a little land on the moon for me every year on my birthday. She has been buying it for a while now and I get these certificates from the Lunar Republic Society."
SRK adds that he has met his fan and she keeps in touch with him all year through mails, "She writes me colourful emails (in the sense one line is red, one is blue and so on). I feel blessed to have the love of so many people worldwide."
According to one online lunar real estate agency, www(dot)lunarregistry (dot) com , the Sea of Tranquility is the most sought-after address on the moon.

1 acre (approximately 43,560 sq ft, or 4,047 sq mtrs) costs US $37.50 (Rs 1758.75) and the actor owns several acres there. An ownership package includes a beautifully engraved parchment deed, a satellite photograph of the property and an information sheet detailing the geography of your region. An interactive Full Moon Atlas on CD-ROM is available at an additional cost.
You are allowed to purchase up to 40 acres per transaction. The proceeds from the purchase of the plot on the moon, go toward the Lunar Republic Society's programme for privatised human-based exploration, settlement and development of the Moon.
Now while there are many websites on the internet (based in the US, UK and Russia) that allows you to buy land on the moon, it doesn't mean you can charge NASA or other space agencies for trespassing when they land on your property.
Property ownership is permanently registered by the International Lunar Lands Registry in its annual publication, which is copyrighted and deposited in the United States Library of Congress and with international patent and trademark offices, including the United Kingdom (UK Patent Office), Japan (Japan Copyright Office), Russia (Rospatent) and with the United Nations (UN Depository Library), in compliance with the Berne Convention.

Prabhu Deva dances for MJ

Today is the day on which our Archangel of pop-music was born. Every die-hard fan of MJ would cherish his loving memories and will pray for his soul. Shah Rukh Khan's company Red Chillies has produced a music video as a tribute to the King of Pop, just in time for the legend's 51st birthday, that’s today!

The music for the special video song has been given by Vishal-Shekhar, while Remo has choreographed it, Vishal has also written the song. Shankar Mahadevan, Shaan, KK and Shreya Ghoshal and Sunidhi Chauhan have rendered their voice for the track.

Things can’t get better for the video. Yeah! Our Indian Michael Jackson, Prabhu Deva performs Michael's steps as a backdrop in the video. The five minute music video has Prabhu Deva wearing a white suit and dancing like MJ.

When Prabhu Deva was approached by Shah Rukh Khan for this tribute he happily agreed. “Michael Jackson was my mentor. I grew up watching his dance and copying his steps. Even today, when I choreograph songs or when I am just dancing at home, without my knowledge MJ’s steps seep in,” Prabhu Deva relishes.

The video will be released online from today in the websites of Red Chillies and Seagram's Royal Stag and also on all music channels. It will be available for free download and is not a commercial venture.

The album video will also have loving messages devoted for MJ by stars like SRK, Hrithik Roshan, Prabhu Deva, Shahid Kapoor, Harman Baweja, Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma, Kangna Ranaut, Priyanka Chopra and cricketer Yuvraj Singh.

So, here is a great thing to look out for us all MJ maniacs. Don’t miss it!

FIR against Shah Rukh

The Bandra police on Thursday filed a case against film star Shah Rukh Khan for “outraging religious sentiments”.

The complaint was registered by the Mumbai Aman Committee, a religious organisation, in objection to his remark in a recent magazine interview in which he listed Prophet Mohammed as one of the most unimpressive personalities in history.

If the case is proved, Khan could go to jail for three years, police said. Khan is presently in the United States and his statement would be taken when he returns; he will not be arrested immediately, said Senior Police Inspector Prakash George. He added: “We will take action after completing the probe.”

Zarar Qureshi, secretary of the committee, claimed: “Shah Rukh Khan bracketed the Prophet along with Adolf Hitler and Winston Churchill.”

Farid Sheikh, president of the committee, said they would not allow Khan’s body to be buried anywhere in Maharashtra when he dies.

I was misinterpreted, says SRK

A day after a police complaint was filed against him for "hurting religious sentiments" in Islam, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh said Friday that his comments to a magazine were misinterpreted due to a "writing error".

The First Information Report (FIR) was lodged by the Mumbai Aman Committee (MAC) at the Bandra police station here Thursday after they read in Time'N Style-Luxury that Shah Rukh had listed Prophet Mohammad as one of the most unimpressive personalities in history alongside Adolf Hitler and Winston Churchill.

But Shah Rukh said it was a "writing error" and that he had named the Prophet among the most impressive personalities in history.

"Obviously I think that there is no more important figure in history than Prophet Mohammad in the most positive way possible. Also, being a Muslim and standing up for the tenets of Islam is my most important agenda. If they (MAC) have seen my interviews on TV about Islam and Prophet Mohammad, they would know it's a writing error and not a thought or view that I believe in," Shah Rukh told IANS in an SMS message.

"For all practical purposes, Prophet Mohammad is the most important positive figure in Islam," he added.

A corrigendum from the magazine was also published across Mumbai newspapers Thursday wherein the magazine accepted the error.

The corrigendum stated: "This is with reference to the interview with Shah Rukh Khan that featured in Time'N Style-Luxury Vol-1 issue: The answer to question 'According to you (Shah Rukh) who is the most impressive figure in history?' should have appeared as: 'There are lots of them. Some negative ones like Hitler. Then Napoleon, Winston Churchill were impressive.

" 'If I can call it history then most impressive, positive figure Prophet Mohammad and from recent times there are the nice ones like Nelson Mandela, Gandhiji and Mother Teresa.' This is a clarification and the error is deeply regretted."

An official from the Bandra police station, however, confirmed that the FIR had not been withdrawn even after the corrigendum was published.

Shah Rukh’s surgery successful

The King Khan underwent the much-needed shoulder surgery yesterday (16th February, 2009). The star rushed from London, where he had been with Lara Dutta and Irrfan Khan, to promote his latest venture Billu. Shah Rukh Khan had hurt his shoulder while shooting for the film Dulha Mil Gaya, but put off the surgery as he had to complete Billu and promote the film. The operation was performed by a team of doctors headed by Dr. Sanjay Desai.

Doctors at the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai said that the surgery was successful and that SRK would be out of action for at least four to six weeks. Shah Rukh will resume shooting soon after he recovers fully, probably in mid-March, says sources close to the actor.
